APEGA’s Professional Practice Department will be presenting on the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and its requirements.
As young, new, or soon-to-be licensed professionals, strengthen your knowledge of the CPD Program to ensure you understand the requirements and your professional obligations at the start of your career. This presentation covers the CPD practice standard and its requirements, provides clarity on activity-based reporting, and goes over common challenges that professionals may face in meeting their CPD obligations (and ways to overcome them).
Presenter - Daniel Lawrysyn, P.Eng., FEC, FGC (Hon.)
As the continuing professional development (CPD) manager, Daniel is responsible for APEGA’s CPD program and licensure administration activities. In his role, Daniel is charged with conducting CPD reviews of licensed professionals, managing the CPD aspects of the Good Standing Policy, the annual declaration process, and licensure applications for current and former APEGA registrants to ensure ethical and competent practice in Alberta. With more than 25 years of engineering experience focused in environment and public safety, he has worked in private industry, consulting companies, and municipal government. Daniel graduated from the University of Regina and attained his fellowship with Engineers Canada and his honorary fellowship with Geoscientists Canada through his previous volunteer work with APEGA.
