Description:

Our Prince George office is looking to add a driven Civil Engineer to our team. In this role, you will benefit from the support of industry professionals while working on exciting and challenging projects throughout Northern BC that make a meaningful difference in many communities, including local governments and Indigenous communities.

 

We are looking for someone who shares our values and is excited to provide a high level of service to our clients. Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing your civil engineering expertise to develop workable solutions for infrastructure projects, including roads, water systems, wastewater systems, and drainage. A breadth of experience in these areas is essential.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to prepare project designs, construction documents, cost estimates, capital and implementation plans, risk assessments, and related documentation.
  • Leading and overseeing projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to quality and project control standards to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
  • Fostering relationships with project leaders and clients and providing trusted advisor and client liaison services.
  • Acting as a key liaison between our senior and junior engineering team members and offering support and guidance.
  • Preparing technical reports, plans, studies, proposals, and presentations. 
  • Coaching and mentoring younger professionals to foster their development and collaborating with others to continue building our team.
  • Identifying market opportunities and developing work plans, budgets, and funding applications tailored to meet client's needs and objectives.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will be a Civil Engineer with 5-10 years of experience and will be registered, or eligible for registration, as a professional member of EGBC or an equivalent provincial or territorial association. In addition, the following attributes would be considered a benefit to this role:  

 

  • You have experience working with and developing relationships with Indigenous communities and local governments in BC.
  • You are willing to travel, mainly throughout Northern British Columbia, for project work, including community visits.
  • You have experience in project leadership and business development.
  • You have knowledge spanning feasibility to detailed design and construction administration.
  • You demonstrate proficiency in preparing budgets, cost estimates, and work plans and are familiar with funding programs.
  • You deliver services effectively within multi-disciplinary, fast-paced, multi-year projects.
  • You are collaborative and appreciate diverse backgrounds and perspectives both with clients and internal team members.
  • You have experience in coaching and mentoring and have a growth mindset.
  • You are proficient at managing multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a self-directed work environment.
  • You demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • You possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
