CEA YP group will be hosting a tour of the new Starlight Pump Station in the new Starlight community development in SW Calgary, accompanied by representatives from the City of Calgary and Associated Engineering. The group will speak to the complexities of the multidisciplinary project as it services the development around it.
Currently in its commissioning stage, the $14.9M project involved the construction of a new pump station to provide immediate fire suppression and future domestic water supply for the new development. The structure consists of cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete double T roof system to house overhead girder cranes, process mechanical piping, horizontal centrifugal pumps, and other components to make up the water distribution system. Other works include 8 m deep excavations for the pump house foundations and a tie-in to the existing distribution system.
Personal protective equipment is mandatory. Safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat and safety glasses.
