Description:

We currently have an opening for a Project Engineer/Associate Project Manager in the Bridge Management Group in our Edmonton office. The successful candidate will have experience engaging with clients directly in providing innovative design solutions in the transportation sector. You will lead with a forward-thinking approach that promotes a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. You will provide technical expertise and project management on transportation projects for public and private sector clients with a focus on bridges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting municipalities in a client-facing role to help them effectively manage their bridge and culvert inventory through structural site condition inspections, asset prioritization and grant funding opportunities
  • Providing a leadership role in the preparation of bridge and culvert rehabilitation and replacement designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.
  • Advancing projects through the proposal, concept, design, and construction phases; working with existing clients; and helping to developing new clients.
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Assisting as a contact for project-related client communications.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major transportation projects.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.

Qualifications:

What you will bring: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution; or a Civil Engineering Diploma from an accredited technical institution.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, or a C.E.T. with ASET. 
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus bridge work. 
  • Project Management or Assistant Project Management experience is a strong asset. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.
