Description:

Stormwater engineering is a crucial part of our community development practices. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of planners, engineers, and environmental professionals. You will benefit from the support of industry experts while working on challenging and innovative projects that serve local communities.

  • Providing accurate and timely input on technical reports, plans, and studies such as Master Drainage Plans, Pond Reports, Pond Construction Drawings, and Stormwater Management Reports.
  • Building relationships with colleagues, project leaders, and clients.
  • Connecting with municipalities, provincial regulators, and other stakeholders to secure project approvals.
  • Communicating through various professional media, including technical writing, policy writing, negotiation, and public engagement.
  • Enhancing your stormwater skills and furthering your understanding of best practices, regulations, design criteria, and processes/equipment/technologies.
  • Conducting stormwater modeling using tools commonly used in the Calgary region (PCSWMM, SWMHYMO, DFASCC, etc.).
  • Acting as the client's representative on-site during construction to gather information, conduct inspections, and ensure designs are built to specifications.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will be a graduate of a Civil or Environmental Engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a stormwater/water resources and/or community development capacity. Our ideal candidate is registered as a P.Eng. and is in good standing with APEGA or an equivalent provincial or territorial professional association.

  • You have professional experience in all aspects of stormwater management, including master drainage planning, design of stormwater facilities and infrastructure, stormwater analysis, and modelling using a variety of modelling tools.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication coupled with advanced technical report writing skills.
  • You are energized and adaptable. You are able to balance requests from multiple sources and work within timelines.
  • You take personal pride and accountability in delivering high-quality work for our clients.
  • You are able to work without boundaries and be open to finding diverse and unexpected solutions to problems and challenges. Be an integral member of a growing team and fuel creativity and excitement.

  • You are willing to travel to project sites throughout Western Canada, on occasion.
