The ISL Lethbridge office is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Transportation, Traffic Operations and/or Traffic Signal Engineer-in-Training or Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in traffic operations, transportation planning, and/or traffic signal systems analysis, operations and/or design.

The candidate must be a self-motivated individual and willing to accept challenging roles. The candidate must also possess very good communication skills, a strong work ethic and enjoy working in a team environment.

Responsibilities and Requirements may be adjusted for Electrical Engineer-in-Training candidates.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the transportation discipline in preparation of Traffic Signal Design, Illumination Design, Traffic Signal Timing Plans, Transportation Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Safety Assessments and related work.
  • Provide assistance as required for planning, proposals and marketing of the transportation discipline.
  • Analyze intersections and traffic signals with Synchro, SimTraffic, and/or Sidra.
  • Traffic
    signal and illumination construction inspection.
  • Project administration duties, such as preparation of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and schedule coordination.
  • Successful execution of work to meet client's needs, on time and within budget.

Description:

  • A degree in Civil, Transportation or Electrical Engineering or a current designation as a C.Tech. or C.E.T. with ASET.
  • Engineering candidates must have a Canadian Engineer-in-Training designation (registered with APEGA or eligible to transfer membership to APEGA).
  • Training and/or experience with Synchro, SimTraffic and Sidra for intersection analysis.
  • Training and/or experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Training and/or experience with MUTCDC, ITE and IMSA standards/guidelines for traffic operations and traffic signal systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications:
