McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist for our Victoria, BC office. This role is ideal for someone looking for potential to grow in responsibility over time.  Design/construction engineering experience will be utilized on a wide variety of land development, municipal utilities and roadwork projects. The successful candidate will possess a high degree of competence with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other technical software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of engineering designs/calculations, modeling, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, tender documents and contracts for projects such as potable water, sanitation, stormwater management plans, roadway design, site grading and drainage systems.
• Take projects from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans, and project documentation requirements, using primarily Civil 3D, as well as other technical software.
• Coordinate with other team members and clients to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology plus 3-5 years’ experience in municipal design and construction.  Experience in the Victoria area market is considered an asset
• Registration as an A.Sc.T. or other technical accreditation is an asset
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D Software is essential
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Natural communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience with administering construction contracts
• Ability to work without supervision as well as within a busy and close-knit team environment
