CEA YP group will be hosting a tour of the new BMO Center expansion, accompanied by representatives from RJC, CMLC and the Calgary Stampede. The group will speak to the backstory of the structure and its architecture and venue spaces. RJC will speak to the overall structural design of the project.
Opened in June of 2024, the $500 million expansion project is now considered the largest convention centre within western Canada, more than doubling the usable space of the original building to over one million square feet. The resulting structure provides two ballrooms, 38 meeting rooms and over 100,000 square feet of exhibition space. The project has not only offered a beautiful and functional event space for the city but also serves a major step in supporting and developing the grander Culture + Entertainment District in Calgary.
The expansion was previously toured by the CEA YP group during construction, showcasing the significant steel structure supporting this mega-project and this new tour opportunity will allow all to see the finished results of this iconic project and serve as an example of how good management can deliver large scale projects on schedule and within budget.
