The CEA YP group will be hosting a tour of the Edmonton - Strathcona County Footbridge. This yet-to-be opened bridge crosses the North Saskatchewan River between northeast Edmonton and Strathcona County. The tour will be led by representatives from Associated Engineering. They will speak to the complexities and nuances of the project through design and construction.
The bridge links the City of Edmonton trails in the vicinity of 167 Avenue with Strathcona County along Township Road 540. Pre-construction effort included public and indigenous engagement, concept planning, preliminary design, and detailed design. Construction began in June 2023 and the bridge is expected to be open to the public this summer.
Personal protective equipment is mandatory: safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat, gloves, and safety glasses. All attendees will need to complete an on-site Graham safety orientation once on site.
